It appears another Hollywood couple is heading to divorce court. Actress Kate Winslet and Director Sam Mendes have decided to end their 7-year marriage. Fortunately, the divorce is not expected to be a messy one.

The London-based law firm who confirmed the divorce said the decision was “entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement,” and that “Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.”

The couple have a six-year-old son Joe and raise Winslet’s 9-year-old daughter Mia from a previous marriage.

Neither Winslet nor Mendes has commented on the divorce, despite several rumors floating around about why the marriage ended. Some speculate that the couple began having problems after the filming of Revolutionary Road, which ironically is about a couple who appears to be perfect to the outside world but behind closed doors has a very turbulent marriage. The movie, directed by Mendes, stars Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as April and Frank Wheeler.

Both Winslet and Mendes are Academy Award winners. Last year Winslet won the Best Actress award for her role in The Reader, while Mendes won his award for Best Director for American Beauty in 1999.
